Default XC70 electrical woes.

Hello,

I have acquired a 2001 XC70, genuine 60,000 miles and one owner, obviously has been standing a lot and a few problems result from that. Have replaced the rear shocks and a few suspension bushes so all well there.
The problems are around the tailgate, the wiper. Fog lights and tailgate lock don’t work and also the rear passenger doors won’t lock via central locking.
We found 5 wires broken in loom alongside tailgate hinge these were repaired and checked for continuity and alls ok there, we have found a little corrosion here and there but not a huge amount.
A couple of fuses were blown and 3 relays were faulty in the cargo compartment, we have checked signal from CEM to REM using Vida and all values were correct. Is it possible to test REM using Vida or any other means or is it simply if REM is working the various items should work?
Sorry if I rambled, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this. Don.
