Is it necessary to change all 4 tyres at once
Information regarding the AWD in the xc70. I need to replace 2 tyres as they were damaged . Do I need to replace the other 2 good ones as they are only partly worn . I will fit the 2 new ones on the same axle Any advise very much appreciated.

If there's plenty of tread on the 'good' tyres, just replacing the two new ones on the same axle should be OK.

In a word - NO. Costco, Kwik Fit and some other tyre fitters have been known to tell you that you need to change all four but it is cobblers. The modern Haldex systems on post 2003 Volvo's have no issues whatsoever with a set of tyres that are different makes, and tread depths. It is good practice to keep the same brand of tyre on the same axle and if you have a pair substantially newer than the other to put them to the rear but that's no different from a 2wd car.
