Be careful - New 2024 XC90's are not as good as older ones
Hi Mark
Be careful what you wish for. Ive just swapped my 2020 R Design, identical to yours for a new 2024 Plus, as thats the only diesel model now. What a mistake... nowhere near as good. Only one Drive Mode, USB sticks don't work for music. The App can't send destinations to the car and mpg details arent on the screen or on the Journal entries. You have to open a separate box to see details in the car and then close to see anything else. There is no passenger seat net to store things in. The main screen when navigating doesnt have any other information. Car Media etc . A total disappointment and If I hadnt lost the R Design, I'd send it back... A real shame and thats after over 40 years of Volvos... Chris.... |

There are ways round it.
Google Maps on the phone, search location. Then get in car, location appears in google maps. USB Audio - There is an app for it. AudioWagen. AAOS does lack stuff sure, but it is more up to date than Senus. |

Yes thanks for that. I had just noticed how searches on my phone have appeared in the car, so that’s one niggle improved. I’ve got Audiowagen now and it’s OK but not really as good as my old R Design. The USB sticks have to be reformatted to FAT32, which is a backward step from NTFS, and it indexes the whole stick each time you start the car. It also doesn’t continue from where it was, which again is annoying but it’s better than Volvo’s efforts…or lack of them…
But no different drive modes or even odometer on the dash board. You have to open a box to see the total mileage and then close it to continue, and the App has less functionality and less information than before… mpg details… It’s just a shame to be disappointed with a new car…. |

I have drive modes
But having to have a T8 just to get them seems excessive I'll grant you. Shame it's not the roller on the dash any more, that's a step backwards. |

Press the right hand side of the steering wheel menu button from memory. If I recall correctly it is the one with lines inside what looks like a Trxt Button on a TV Remote.
