Default XC90 Wiper Issues

Hi, has anyone experienced or resolved the following issues with the rain sensing wipers?

Firstly the rain sensing function will deactivate at random times (during a journey). I can turn them back on, sometimes they will stay on for the rest of the trip, sometimes they will turn off again.

Secondly, with the rain sensing function turned off, sometimes the wipers will sweep at random times.

Any help/ thoughts would be appreciated. The car is a 2017 XC90 D5.

Had the same problem on our 2018 XC60. Ended up with a new wiper motor and screen, fortunately while still under warranty. Wipers had come on at high speed on a dry screen resulting in a badly scratched screen.

Thanks for the info. Fortunately it is still under Selekt warranty so I'll give them a call and see what they say.

You get it from Stoneacre Lincoln?

Various people have reported wiper issues (although not specifically regarding rain sensing issues) over the years. The solution always seems to have been a new wiper module. Mine had one replaced in the early years of ownership, but that was because it was always popping up an error message saying "wiper failure" (but they still worked).

It seems to have settled down now, one single sweep per 2 or 3 trips out. I have left the rain sensing turned off.

I did not get it from Stoneacre Lincoln, although they are the nearest, past treatment means that I will not buy from them again!
