I started with removing it. When the indicators started to work, I replaced the stalk and had no problem since that.

Good news good news the problem is fixed.
I swapped out the indicator light stalk for a secondhand one I bought off eBay for £30. And hey presto my beam lights are working again hooray. Many thanks to those who have provided suggestions on where the problem might lie and things that I can check. |

High beams not working
I know this thread started a while ago but people still come here for answers, so I decided to post what I had discovered. My high beams suddenly stopped working and like others and i wasn't even getting the blue light on the dashboard. After taking apart the steering wheel cover I removed the indicator stalk ( held in by two little screws) then I took it apart and saw that a peice of plastic (behind the circuitboard) that should have moved when I pulled the stalk towards me was broke. I tried super glue and resins to repair it but could only get it to flash. Only real option was to buy a replacement from Volvo, this solved the problem. Could have sourced one from a breakers but had mot so didn't have time. Part cost me £76 in total. Hope this helps someone

I have the same issue I wonder about the indicator stalk being worn out.
Anyone know of the Volvo part number for the indicator/wiper stalk assemby. An auto-elec has checked my car and advises there is a fault in the BCM (Body Control Module), is that possible? I had thought perhaps the CEM? Any thoughts on that? XC90 2005 D5 Auto Mk1 MY2005. |
