2007 S80 radio/Sat nav repair in North West
Have a 2007 S80 - Radio and Sat Nav don't work at all - occasionally hear a crackle but nothing else.
Display for radio is blank, all radio buttons do nothing, and can't get the sat nav to do anything or raise up from the dash. Lower section of display for the heater works correctly and heater controls work fine. Spoke to the chap at volvo diagnostics who was very heplful but needs the car to diagnose the fault and then fix - unfortunately they are 250 miles away.... There's also a specialst radio repair company in Stockport - but they can't do it...... I use a good Indie Volvo specialist, who can't really help - short of getting new parts from Volvo... Anyone know a Radio repair specialist in the North West who could help? |

it will be cheaper to replace with a unit from a breaker not many places are even slightly interested in fixing car audio equipment i presume you have done all the basic checks fuses Ariel and its amplifier all fuses and connection plugs or replace with an apple car play unit or tablet quite a common update on certain volvo models

Possible suspect - "communications module"?
A main dealer should be able to determine this and can't believe even Manchester doesn't have one! |

I've had the car to an indie volvo specialist who is normally pretty good - they can't offer a clear solution and recommended taking it to a radio specialist to fix. On the subject of fitting used parts I understand the radio/amp/control unit work together and are coded to the car I'm also unsure if old parts can be re-coded easily..hence why im ideally looking for a radio expert who can just repair what I've got..

try Volvo Diagnostic https://volvodiagnostic.com/p3-platf...cm-repair.html I would give them a call and explain your symptoms - they are very good, repaired my CEM 5 years ago and it's still working fine

Already tried this and the have said they really need the car - which is about a 3 1/2 hour drive. Hence why I'm looking for a local solution....

Has anyone hooked it up to Vida?
I don't know whether it can go in depth enough, but it might be able to tell you which module in the audio systems are offline, if so you can consider there might be communications problem in the network leading to the stereo system, perhaps a broken cable or another module downstream being faulty.
