If you need a set of BOSCH front pads that take the 2 clip design, I have a brand new unused set.

Ordered in error for my 2016 D5 which only has the single clip when did discs n pads recently.

PM if require pictures or more info

PS: I too noticed a while back discs n pads replaced by Volvo wore & rusted quicker of late, so been sourcing BOSCH discs & pads independently & not had similar issues

Could that be the issue? Wrong pads? Pads too small to cover the discs fully?

Just a thought as that seems quite a wide area of rust?

When I do my discs, I just use a grinder to take the rusty lip off and then a flap disc on the angle grinder to finish it off as it is less aggressive.
I jack up one front wheel at a time+axle stand. Remove the calliper and pads I the run the engine and put in 1st gear and the disc rotates at a nice speed for dressing the disc. Give it all a quick wipe with brake cleaner and reassemble. Worth checking the calliper is free to slide and the pads are sitting squarely and metal to metal with a bit of copper coat on.

Surely not!
The pads are as it left the factory. Although as you say, the lip is quite strange…..

Just to carry this on and try to figure it out……

According to Volvo, the part number for my pads is 32373124.

The discs are part no 31471752.

If that’s right, I just cannot for the life of me figure out why I have the rusty ring on the outer cm edge of each disc?

It obviously looks like the pads simply don’t touch that part of the disc. Just not sure how that can be?

Any thoughts?
