Default Regen issue

2014 XC60 AWD D4

Had a problem with my DPF for a while now and its starting to grate on me.
Car drives superb around town and purrs along nicely. As soon as I hit an open road its soot filter full and limp mode.
I've done a live scan on it at a steady 50mph to see what's going on. The soot filter starts at between 40g to 45g then steadily goes down to 2g then 7g then back to 2g the bounces back up to 40g. After which it returns to a slow decent again.
It does this every time
Today I done a forced Regen a few times with the same effect.
on the last Regen I noticed the Pre and Post cat temps didn't rise from normal but it still said successful.
I then took it on a fast road..... temps went up and soot went down to 7g,
So I done another forced Regen and 20 mins later job complete but soot now at 41g.
Is this right or has my car been mapped for town driving.

Definitely doesn't sound right.

Mine gets to around 25g then starts a regen which takes it down to 3 or 4g. It then takes 300 or so miles to get back to 25g such I feel is less than it used to manage

Doesn't sound right.

Be careful with the forced regens. Diesel can dilute in the engine oil and that can cause big problems. I suggest changing the oil and oil filter if you've done multiple forced regens.

It's recently come out of garage after service and having swirl flaps and intake manifold replaced.
It's the live scan reading that puzzles me. It seems that it's irrelevant what the soot reading is it just goes to limp mode on a steady run yet its fine round town.
I have a vida scan tool on its way to me. So hopefully will shed some light on it.
