Thumbs up New crankshaft sensor - fingers crossed!

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful answers. I am trying a new Volvo crankshaft sensor (about GBP 75 including VAT, "Impulse Sensor" on the invoice) and Volvo fuel filter for good measure (about GBP 34 including VAT) which Chris Harris from FRF Volvo in Swansea shipped to me (about GBP 10). (They had no fuel pumps for the 940 but I don't think it's that now.)

It broke down 3 times on the way to my mechanic, and each time while it was dead when I cranked the ignition there was no response on the tachometer.

He will fit the parts this week then drive it around. I will update with the outcome.

Thanks again!
