Exclamation LOTS of play on exhaust cam sprocket when starting (video)

This a used 2006 xc70 I just bought with the 2.5t (ive driven it home and a test drive on the highway. 254,000 kms. I couldn't get information on last timing belt service from previous owner. Exhaust cam pulley is very wobbly when started. I don't know what this means. Are all my exhaust valves bent now? If anyone can shed any light on this problem it would be very Helpful. Here is the link to the video. The timing belt is showing major signs of wear/ melting on inner side towards engine.

Someone either removed in the past from the camshafts itself and did not torque it properly, or you are in serious need of a replacement. You can see how when the engine starts and the VVT gets pumped with oil how it moves forward.

I am inclined to believe its heavily worn inside. Be safer than sorry and replace it.

I see thank you for your reply much appreciated. Engine timing must be off if that vvt solenoid is continuosly activated. I'm going to be throwing an entire timing belt kit at it this week. I don't think this is a job ill be tackling myself.

It is a CVVT and the exhaust cam is continuously varied. So that is normal, I don't think the timing is off unless you have specific codes. But the vvt hub itself needs to be replaced.
