Diamond cut wheels
We ordered a XC40, it has 18" diamond cut wheels.
I would have prefered "plain" silver painted wheels, but there was no choice. Not a big deal, I won't see them while drivind the car But I do wonder if/how difficult these diamond cut wheels really are. I read some horror stories, hence the query.

My V90 is just over 2 years old and 51k on the clock with 19” diamond cut wheels and they are in mint condition
Stay on top of cleaning them and use the correct alloy wheel cleaner and mitts etc You could also get them ceramic coated too I also once clean ensure they are sealed with a decent spray wax Also depends on if people kerb them I guess which can cause potential premature failure of the finish Like I said mine are still factory mint (will see if they are in another 2 years) |

I am afraid that "Stay on top of cleaning them" will be a problem

Don't worry about it, the Volvo wheels are not VW quality ones, they seem to fair really well, if you kerb them, just touch them up to seal the marks with some clear lacquer or nail varnish.
I have some very minor worming, but that was caused by a slap dash tyre fitter not being careful with removing the centre caps. |
