VOLVO 940 1994 sensor issues NW UK
Hello I have a 1994 Volvo 940 wentworth. 80k on the clock clean engine bay runs like a dream when it runs. Unfortunately it has had issues not starting. I took it to a local garage and after a long time of trying different stuff he figured out it was the crank shaft sensor which he replaced and it ran fine again for a few months. Now it won’t start again and I feel like it’s the same issue but he doesn’t have time to look at it and every mechanic in my town (Todmorden) is up to their necks so I could really do with finding someone who knows these cars in the surrounding area or somehow learning to fix it myself. I have very limited knowledge of car mechanics but I’m a fast learner. Is there anyone out there who can help? A good classic Volvo mechanic in the new area ? Someone who can give me some knowledge to do it myself? Anything I’d be so grateful to anyone who can give me a hand I want to keep this beast on the road I know it’s got a lot more mileage in it. Thanks

Welcome, and sorry to hear you’ve got some issues with your Volvo. There are some amazing chaps on here who have an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of Volvo stuff, especially the 700/900. I would suggest if you copy your original post, then go back to the home page, scroll down a touch and you will see a list of model series headings, go to the one 700/900 and enter that. Once in that section, there should be a ‘NewThread’ icon just under the wants /sales section. Paste in your question, and hopefully a load of knowledge will come your way 👍 Cheers Steve |

The first checks are to see if teh fuel pump is running and if you have spark and then work from there.
If they used a cheap sensor then that could well be the problem. I only use genuine Bosch sensors (OE manufacture) If you are stuck you could get it recovered to us |
