Default Advice please peeps

Hi all.

I'm about to retire - yah! - and have £5k to 'invest' in my 2006 XC90.

The gearbox has been replaced, it's had a replacement engine, new exhaust, lights and a shed load more. I love it. I'm not interested in changing as it's got enough capacity for my coffin!!!

The turbo is weeping (rebuild time), shockers too, so I was thinking of a complete suspension rebuild including all other bushes so its just all done & I can forget about it. I intend to completely rebuild the rear brakes too.

Oh, I need a new heater matrix and blower fitting too!

To the questions:

1 - Does anyone know if it is possible to modify gearbox software change points? At present, no matter what, the box will only shift into top gear if the car is doing over 50 rather than just 'cruising' (not being loaded).

2 - I'm going to have the turbo rebuilt. Is there anything to do with said turbo that's worth doing at the same time to increase performance/fuel consumption?

3 - Is it worth having an ECU tune?

4 - I need to replace both real lights (don't ask!) so which are the last year that are a plug in replacement?

5 - Any other 'common' issues I can head off?

Thanks

You can't modify the gearbox shift points other than a Polestar map... but even then you can't choose them.

I realise it's not a std feature. However, I kinda wondered if some clever person had managed to find a way .... just like people do for may other annoying issues
