Default Rear axle woes

I removed the pinion oil seal from my 1967 1800S this morning only to find noticeable play in the pinion shaft. So I can only assume that the bearing has gone. I don't fancy my chances of rebuilding the diff so I have posted a wanted in the parts section for a known good rear axle.
Alternatively if anyone has the full set of parts to do a 4 wheel disc brake conversion then I might be interested in that.
Anyone got one near Cambridgeshire?

Was it noisy before you look off the pinion flange? If all it had was a leak replace the seal. The pinion will wobble once you remove the flange.

There was noise but I was hoping it was either U-joints or the centre support bearing but now I reckon it was probably the diff.

I find it hard to believe that the pinion is supposed to move like that. I reckon it would do for a seal in short order.
