Default Vacuum Readings

I've just checked the manifold vacuum on my 240 and it is reading at 14" - seems very low to me. Has anyone ever checked theirs to compare?

Car is a 1988 240 GLT with the B230E. Reading taken from the PCV nipple on the manifold.

There are no obvious leaks on the vacuum pipework nor around the manifold.

Hi Dave, Never seen any typical manifold vacuum readings given in Haynes but what makes you think yours is wrong?. 14" would equate to about 7psi under no load conditions. Would have thought that would be adequate. If your engine is runnung sweetly with no flat spots through the rev range then wouldn't worry.
