Mk1 440's are better. My '91 felt alot more sturdy than '94 facelift. Renault 1.7i lumps are very strong and reliable.
Late ones are nice-but build is much better on the early ones. Same goes with the 480's too.[/QUOTE] Well said Daniel M, I still have my '91 460 GLE and the later ( facelift ) models certainly feel more Fiat than Volvo. The old 400's actually feel like they'd go through a brick wall and keep driving! Cheers, Anthony. |

Bieng new to Volvos, I only bought mine as a run around, 440 Li -94 facelift, 180k, one owner from new, fsh yada yada yada.
I paid £180 with 6 months tax and a few months MOT and yesterday it passed 12 months MOT. Amazing and it runs like a dream and stops on a dime. I would recomend this car as the perfect run around, reliable, good starters and it seems to be built to last for a long time to come. Rear arches are a little rusty on the near side but that is pretty much it... Go get one! |

nice car, that one, I'd be tempted to go and see in the flesh first. The sellers v70 on sale is nice too! |
