Default Oil leak

Firstly hello to everyone, i have recently bought a 1995 T5 don't know why i didn't do it sooner, it seems to have developed an oil leak which tends to manifest itself when cornering and fills the cabin with smoke, i'm pretty sure it's leaking on to the exhaust manifold, are there any obvious things to check, ie any breathers that may get blocked.
Thankyou in advance.
Phil
