1988 volvo 240 GL- Stalling engine
I have a 1988 Volvo 240 GL. The car stalls when the engine gets hot even in this cold weather we have been having in North-East Ohio. I can not sit in traffic long because it will stall and there I am sitting in a traffic jam waiting a minute for it to cool down. It always starts back up but takes a minute to cool down before it re-starts. I recently had the idle speed sensor replaced thinking it was the problem. I poured all kinds of fuel cleaners and injector cleaners, however that did'nt solve the problem.
I have noticed that the problem is sensitive to weather temperature outside. If it is super cold 0 degrees farenheit to say 15 degrees it takes a lot longer to stall. If it is warmer ourside 25 degrees to 50 degrees it stalls a lot easier and a lot more frequent. Can anyone please help me pinpoint what can be the problem. I sincerely thank you in advance, Armand Volvo Owner |

The problem is most likely to be the fuel pump which sit under the the car at the rear. Kenn
