Default V70 passenger door stays locked.

Has anyone come accross this before. The passenger door stays locked when I use the central locking until I lock and unlock it a second time. The mechanism is working fine and I think it's some sort of security measure but I'd like to disengage this feature so all the doors open at once, any ideas please

Sounds like you've got a problem developing. The doorlocks are fitted with a host of microswitches, all of which are interdependent.

Sounds like one of yours is sticking. You might find that the interior lights and the immobiliser will start playing up too.

Haynes gives guidance on how to get at the door locks etc. I wouldn't suggest going as far as removing any of the microswitches from the locks as they need to be unsoldered. It should be enough just get a look at them, clean and lubricate, and I'd be hopeful of a complete cure. Do both front doors to be sure of getting the right microswitch.

It's a fiddly job, and involves removing the door trim, but it's not too difficult. Get a copy of Haynes, some WD40, and spend a happy couple of hours getting out of the Christmas shopping!

Cheers

Jack

Hi,

From what I have read on the forums hte issue is more likely to be a failed micro switch (made from plastic/nylon) but it would also be worth checking the related relay and whether you have voltage/power to the lock mechanism..

Luck...

I think you will find it is a faulty door lock. This happened on my V70 and had it replaced under warrenty.
