turbo noise, loss of boost

I have a 96 850R with 157,000 on it, I was driving and i notised a loud hissing when you get hard on the gas and the boost guage only goes up a bit. I was wondering if this could be an exaust leak or turbo problems

Hi

This sounds like one of the hoses that connect to your turbo has come adrift or has a split in it.

Check all of these for condition and fixing and this may well resolve your problem.

Yeah sounds like a split host somewhere. Check all the intercooler hoses, check the hose into the throttle body, and check all the hoses that attach to the inlet manifold.

thank you i found a split in the hose that goes in to the throtle body, not a hard fix.

Dont know if you have rectified the problem as its a while since i have been on but my work car was doing a similar thing and i was informed that it was possibly the waste gate was continually open.
