Hi all, my problem is as follows
For some reason, my car keeps on going into limp home mode, i am able to temporaily stop it when driving by dropping the clutch and turning the ignition on and off - obviously not the best solution. i am not getting warning lights or anything - however on a couple of occasions i have had the immobiliser light come on (does not flash - stays constant). I had the car put on diagnostics a couple of weeks ago and it came back with 2 faults, 1. Throttle Position Sensor, which was also causing 2. Air Temp to high. I had the Throttle position Sensor replaced - retested and everything came back ok (problem still not sorted though) Can anyone offer me a solution or advice |

The throttle bodies on the GDIs can fail internally. The magnets usually fall off the motor shaft and cause partial or total seizure of the motor/throttle butterfly. If the throttle is sticking it may be why you had the DTC for the throttle position sensor and poor throttle response which you may be mistaking for limp home mode.
You need to remove the intake hose where it goes onto the throttle and with the ignition off try to open and close the throttle butterfly with you finger. If the butterfly sticks of is tight then you will need a new throttle housing. Where there any fault codes logged in the immobilizer when you had it checked? |

Thanks for that Multiplex
I have cleaned the throttle body, and though stiff i didn't have to put to much pressure on the butterfly. Any ideas how much resistance i should be getting. As for the immobiliser light, the diagnostics had not regestered a fault, so that had me baffled |
