Hi Everyone
I'm new here, just purchased my first ever Volvo, it was only intended as a temporary replacement but I like it so much i'd like to keep it! it's a "P" plate V40 in black, but it does have 136,000 miles on a 1.8 petrol engine. How does this mileage fare in Volvo petrol engine terms? I've seen similar age models on e-bay with 166,00 & 199,000. So i'm hoping i've got a few miles left in it.

Hi,
welcome to the forum Snap! I have an identical car in age, colour, etc.which I also got as a stopgap a year ago with 117000 miles on the clock(no Passats in the local rag that week)since then it has been a good solid car and this week I will take it for it's first Mot since I've had it. Stuff I've done so far is replace the rear discs and pads, take apart and clean up the front brakes(the calipers are prone to jamming up),new fuel filter, air filter, plugs and thermostat. I get around 40mpg on a run-Tayside to Oxford on 3/4 of a tank, not bad- Watch for condensation on the electrics and if yours has 135000 miles on it I would consider getting a new timing belt-a tricky job! Good luck |
