Insurance company which only ask for 4 years conviction his.
Hi, (sorry if this post shouldn't be in here)
My endorsements are finally gone from my license! Gone are the years of paying up to £2500 for insurance......or so I thought Currently I pay just over £1000 for my 2.0T (I am 23) I have 4 endorsements, AC10, AC20, MS10, IN10, all from one (stupid) mistake back in May 2004. It has gone down every year and I thought this would be the year when I paid a 'normal' amount of around £600. However, when my renewal came through they wanted £1200?! I rang them up and they gave me some rubbish about prices 'having' to go up becuase of the difficult times for insurance companies with the floods? Anyway, my question is, where can I find an insurance company that doesnt ask for 5 years of conviction history. (I know I have seen ones that just ask for 4 but I can't find any now) It is so annoying I have waited for these to come off and they are still being taken into consideration. Your help would be appreciated Cheers |

I don't know of any by name but I would recommend you go and see a broker.

Yeah, I'm with 'Thames City' at the moment who are a broker and claim to have looked around, which I'm sure they have, but there must be a chance of findind it cheaper than that.
Of course, as soon as you tell Elephant, Direct Line or the like about the endorsements you just get stopped immediately as they tell you they can no longer proceed due to the conviction history.....it's crooked. |

ADRIAN FLUX are excellent, I never had problems with them. Customer services are UK based:
08000 838833 might be worth a try!!

IMO if its not on your licence you dont need to disclose it but if it is you do...why should one disclose a "spent" conviction.... Cheers Jod

Well - half of me would love to not disclose them but nothing would be worse than finding out you are not covered after paying them all that money. They are not going to say 5 years for no reason and they are within the law to do so. I know what you're saying though mate, it is tempting.
Good news anyway! Quote:

+1 for Flux. Brilliant prices - have consistently been at least 30% cheaper than anyone else for me over the past few years.

Lol, i think you mis-enterpreted what i was saying, which was that there is every need to disclose what is on your licence but how much need to disclose what is not on your licence....A moot and technical point i accept but i have never heard of a claim being repudiated for "non disclosure of material information" for not disclosing driving convictions not on the driver licence... However it is great news you have found a "deal"... Cheers Jod Edit the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act on Car Insurance is a knightmare.....

If its off the licence but within the five years, if that's what they ask, you *must* disclose it or run the risk of invalidating your policy.
