if its not and you find you need the pulley, send me the reg and i can give you the price of a discounted one if you want.
pn of the VVT pulley is probably 6900015 (can confirm this if you send me the reg in a pm if your interested), retails at £122.79 inc vat, we sell the same one for £104.37 inc vat plus £4.20 for parcel force to get it to you, meaning your getting more than 10% off retail price even after postage is taken into account.

Hopefully you will find the solenoid will cure the fault, if not then you know what your looking at for another one. good luck with this

Simon

hi mate, its strange you didnt get a gasket as when ever i quote for, or sell these solenoids i always include gaskets too as you cant change it without a new gasket (which you realise now) the person who sold it to you should have mentioned this to be honest. I thought this sounded familiar, i just searched back through your posts and can see my quote for this part including a gasket

we dont actually normally sell these special tools, and to be honest by the time you have bought one to use once, you would probably find it more cost effective if you had paid someone to do it who had one. they are a few pound short of £130 plus delivery if you really want one, but i cant see the point personally as it would be hard to justify that cost when compared to paying someone to do the job in my opinion. (they are on back order too, meaning a delay in getting one).

For the record if you get a pulley to be honest i wouldn't mess around really and would go for a new timing belt too.
