Default volvo factory HID problem

on my 04 S60, one of the factory fitted HID headlights keeps going off every few minutes and then coming back on again. so which bit is likely to be the culprit and where can I get a replace at a more sensible price than volvo spare parts?

Sounds like an issue with the ballast.

im not sure where the ballist is i think if you look around the headlight follow the bulb wireing back and you may come across the ballist box (thats if they have one)
make sure its turned of when handling the bulb as i remember these operate on a high voltage try the connections make sure there cleen and dry and free of corrosion
