Default Problem with buld flicker after fitting HID's

Just fitted HID's to my 54 plate S60 D5, I dont have any warning messages flagging up on the display but what i do have is an annoying bulb flicker.

Does anyone know how to over come this, fitting a certain ohm resister or something?

Thanks

No the bulbs are brand new, so are the ballasts, work fine on another car. i've also tried another pair of bulbs and ballasts on it. think its to do with the s60's electrics.

Bulb being does not mean its perfect.flickering HID = duff bulb.If the bulbs was perfect you would have bulb error message by now.

Don't the P2's have a soft start on their lighting system? The power is not enough to start the ballast. The reason why I fitted the more expensive Ultimate system from HIDS4U which has worked faultlessly from day one on my V70 D5. To be fair I think the kit just includes a resistor to match the standard bulbs and most HID places sell a resistor to fool the cars system. I think you run a real risk off shafting your ballasts as they only try to ignite the bulb a few times before breaking- that was the case years ago when after market HIDs came on the market, I broke a Philips ballast that way.

Fit a relay kit to hold the power on to the HID kit.
The car is trying to close down the ballasts.

A relay each side will help to combat the message centre warning of bulb out. Akit similar to this.

Yes it is, its a 54 plate but has the 05 facelift. The lights do actually stay on, but flicker back and fourth while they're on
