Default Engine sensors & Coolent Question

I'm just tranfering a D24t engine into my non tubro VW LT35 van from which the engine was designed for.
I Need to know what the sensor on the front of the inlet manifold is for and what its connected too electricly and what the sensor behind the alternator is for?? It has a 2 pin plug coming off it.

Craig.

The sensor by the alternator mounting bracket just below injector one is for the coolant temperature sensor. No sensors evident on the inlet manifold.

On the front end of the manifold there is a black plastic end. There is a 2 pin plug on it and also a pipe which goes back to the air inlet to the turbo. I'm guessing this could be a Dump/Blow off valve but not sure.
Thanks for the info on the other sensor though.

Yes the plumbing for the T and the Tic are different.
It's an over pressure valve which when it operates lights the turbo warning light on the dash (69dieselfreak - what's this thing...)

Cool Thanks for your help. Well the LT35 doesnt have this light to i'm guessing it wont be wired up then!
I have a couple of other questions too.......
Does anyone have a diagram of the 940 D24t water system. I could do with a copy of this to plump it into my van.
Just above the gearbox there is a water pipe fitting, On the LT we dont have this and infact the gearbox sits right accross where that pipe is. What is that for? where does it go to??
I suppose i will answer that myself when i see a diagram of the water system.

Thanks,

Craig.

There's a nice schematic of the coolant system on the T on the excellent volvoturbodiesel.blogspot.com. It is in the August 05 blog.
Only problem is that I cannot see any hoses going towards the gearbox - the only hoses running out of the engine compartment are going to the car heater.

Just had a look at that diagram. It doesnt show it on that picture! Its a couple of inches below the pipe it shows.
I think i'll Block it off and cut a piece out the gearbox case to fit it on.
All this hassle for an extra 30bhp and a pump that doesn't p*ss out fuel!

Perhaps not a bad idea to ask an expert Craig 'just in case..'. I'm sure Peter Milnes would know what the mystery pipe is for. TFB also possessed a D24T and having fitted a veg oil system will be familiar with the plumbing.

Default heater hose

Never cease to amaze myself with my shtewpidity - the hose that goes over the gearbox and then takes a sharp left turn is one of the heater hoses.

I'll tee that into the hose that comes out of the head above it then. Thanks for your help.
