260 front spoiler
Does anybody know if the front spoiler that fits underneath the bumper at the front of the car is the same on the 260&265 as it is on the pre-facelift 262c so cars registered 1979-1981. An also how they fit, do they just bolt on to the botom of the bumper like they do on the newer 200's? An by any chace if anyone is ownership of a silver one they would like to flog.
Cheers |

RE: 260 front spoiler
As far as I am aware there were two types of spoilers on the 200 series (240s and 260s inc 262) There is one for the large bumper cars and one for the small. As far as I am aware they will not easily interchange.

RE: 260 front spoiler
Hey Mike, its Steve from the national was set up next to you an am hoping to have my car silver 240 estate lowered by you guys later in the year. Hope your holiday was not a complete wash out.
As you are aware I have the newer bumper type and we both now how the spoiler fits. I would say there were 3 different types of 260 face lift wise. The realy harsh faced one square headlights big proud grill, then one with more rectangular headlights and more modern looking grill and finally the type that is the same as the 1982-1985 240. I want the spoiler from the secound type. I am shure it is gonna be hard to fit it would'nt be any fun if it was'nt Howerver If I could get a better Idea of how it fits I could then decide weather or not to pursist with this idea. On a diiferent note I have some questions about my suspention. Also do you know if Die has recieved my spacers from New Zealand yet? Lastly It would be handy if I could have yours and Dies E-mail address. So here is mine so you don't have to post yours if you don't wanna. supercruising240@toucansurf.com Cheers Steve |

RE: 260 front spoiler
It's a while since I last saw a spoiler for the big bumper cars. From what I remember they bolt onto the bumper. I've checked the shape of the big bumper with the small bumper. The basic shape is the same so no probs there. Difference is the big bumper has wrap around corners. This is where I see problems arising as I suspect the spolier was bolts up through the aluminium at the back instead of attaching with that stupid bit of plastic that always breaks. It's possible it'll be slightly wider but I'd think there's a good chance of sorting this area out.

RE: 260 front spoiler
Thanks for that Mike. I also hate that stupid peace of plastic. The idea came from seeing a picture of a 262C in the V.O.C. mag Center spred. They just the spoiler just looks more agressive. An its gotta be easyer than getting a granada front scoop to fit.
Dai said the spacers would take a while I was just curius, not having heard anything in a while. |

RE: 260 front spoiler
There are two types of 260 factory front spoiler for the rubber bumper cars that I'm aware of - one is a small rubber lip, the other a deeper version which extends back following the shape of the bumper. The latter can be seen in some of the 262C press photos (including that strange one with the Great Dane in the back).

RE: 260 front spoiler
Hey Phillip
I believe you tryed to buy a manual off me some mounths ago for a 1980 262C, Don't know if you remember that or if it is you. I have noticed you post a lot about 262C I don't surpose you have a spare one of these spoilers? as I know a lot of 262C owners keep donar cars. I want the 1979 1980 deeper style spoiler that fits with the metal bumper, ruber inlay type bumpers. I believe it is the type that you have decibed as following the shape of the bumper. an there is an excellent picture of the type I require in the center spred of the Driver B.K.V pictures from eastnor castle 2005. please let me know if you can help me. Thanks Steve |
