Whats it worth
Hi everyone. I've been looking for an 850 T5 estate for some time and looked at one today that was in fantastic condition. The problem is I'm not sure what I should be paying as they seem to vary greatly in price.
The car is a 95(M) SE, 165,000 on the clock but with full Volvo service history. It has all the extras including full heated leather and really is in showroom condition. It has recently had new belts, discs, tyres and clutch. The guy is asking £2995 but will probably take £2500. Does this seem like a fair price?? |

RE: Whats it worth
Have a look on autotrader.co.uk and see what they go for. Why is the guy selling it if he has done all that work? I think I'd be looking for closer to £2250 with that mileage.

An undesirable coloured auto I'd say £1800 and certainly no more. A desirable coloured manual and £2500 would be good, on the high side with that mileage though. *Edit* Just realised you said it had a clutch! D'oh! So.. a manual.. anywhere between £2000 and £2500 I reckon!

RE: Whats it worth
omg..if all that work was carried out by a Volvo dealer then he must have paid about £1500 - or £>800 for an independant. Maybe he sees the work done recently as adding extra value to the car, but, unfortunately, it doesn't really.
I'd check the exhaust is ok as that is the next expensive item, and the usual ABS box. |
