The main reason less emergency services using New V70/XC70?

The delay in getting full Home Office and individual force type approved fitments for radios and other kit in the new dash layout, now that has been done (last summer) by Sweden, the numbers are starting to increase again, and who do we reckon the biggest single customer market for the new 205PD D5 is?
And that should see things getting back to normality

Surely that's more difficult in the smaller V50? (Asking a question here, not questioning your statement )

(Nice avatar pic BTW - your toy?)

Mav,
Talking to fleet mangers about this, the V50/S40 had the same issues early on also, its because the audio display also controls so much of the cars systems and isn't an easy replacement, if at all,
On New V70 the problem was even more pronounced due to the increased systems on the cars centre stack.
The other big dilemma has been, if customers need to install more kit, where do they put it?
The historical solution is to make a big hole in the centre console and/or dash, this obviously has crash test & health & safety as well as practical issues hence the longer development period.

Hope that answers without being to long winded,

Dave,

(oh and yes to the last question)

The rust was caused by the door seals trapping water half way down the door pillar not stone chips.

There must still have been a chip / crack in the paint somehow... Had the door seals warn the paint through (in which case it should be done under warrenty...)
