Default Brand New s40

Hi all,

I have been driving around in a company demo car for the last 2 days and I have been very impressed with the s40.

The car only has 5,000 miles, is the 1.8se BI-FUEL model, metalic, a/c and head seats.

I am so surprised on how well the car drives and it has a fair turn of speed esspecially on the motorway, 5-gear is so well geared that at 80mph I think the revs are about 3000rpm.

Just thought I'd share that with you, I'm thinking of buying a 1998 model for my wife. Is this a fair comparision or not, are there many changes apart from the visual ?

I'm over the moon with my new purchase. A V40 2.0T, okay the speed is going to be somewhat different, but driving it is a pleasure. It's comfortable, and at 70 i'm pulling approx 2500 revs.

My other halfs dad drives a '98 V70 1.8 Europe (little accent over the last e.) which has the half leather etc and he is more than impressed. Great little cars!

The only thing I'd be wary about with my (limited) experience is to check the engine mounts.

Enjoy

Stu
