mmm...well thanks for the help so far guys, looks like more work than I expected however I think I will have to do it now the idea is in my head, even if it does take me a while.
So if I understand the situation correctly I can use my existing engine unit with a thicker head gasket and may well have to cut a hole in the bonnet (not a problem). The turbo unit can be salvaged from a 400 series turbo and should be a (more or less) bolt on job. Don't think I would opt for the 2.0 as would need to think about brakes too huh? Dave you do this for a living, how much would you charge to do this for me if need be? Please mail if you don't want to say on the forum scotty_white@hotmail.com nice one scott |

the problem is not with cutting holes in the bonnet - its with clearance with the inner wing on the exhaust side - at least this is true for the 360 - it may be different for the 340 cos it isnt a crossflow engine.
in the meantime take a look at http://www.higgins340.fsnet.co.uk/ theres some interesting stuff there (even if his front styling is....ahem....questionable! what is that grille....!? cheers james

I wish i could get 10-15hp from an air filter ! , scott i will reply privately and as james said its to do with clearance issues on inner wing .you will need also ecu from 480 turbo to control the thing , extra fuel pump etc etc .

This gets more complicated by the minute. I look forward to your mail Dave.
Saw that site James, that spoiler apparently looks manacing according to the text on marks site, not the words I would use! Still a good effort though even if the stylings a little curious. |

i run 205/50 r15 tyres on hockenhiem r's for racing and there is no problem with fouling the arches. you only get a problem when you drop the suspension at the front. you will need a 5mm spacer plate to run this profile as you end up fouling the shock housing.
