Is it wise to try to install airbags when you're not sure how to do it? I know I would never dare touch anything like that. The airbags are inflated by a small explosive charge that could do some nasty injuries if you were to somehow accidentally set them off while you were working on them.

hi mate, thanks for that.
the car will be disconnected at the battery, then the key will not be inserted so the car is off anyway, also the airbag module will be getting replaced with it, so that the car doesnt know any different from it being deployed before hand, as the current module will be removed. |

If you've had an accident where the a/b has inflated, the front of the car must be in a bit of a state.
Isn't all this stuff an insurance job ? Re the dashboard and other removal bits, Haynes manual will cover most. |

im 19 y/o and i cannot afford to go through my insurance due to the price of my insuarnce already on the volvo.
it cost me £500 for a replacement dashboard with bag and passenger bag, from a breakers yard. and the front end has been hit at slow speed, altough it caught the wing / front door post, and took the post in abit! ive had to have a new front quarter and i need to take it to a professional to get done. |

I see your problem. All I can say is good luck.
Incidentally, my 17 yr old son passed his test last Sept, and the price to have him as a named driver on my car.... £5000.!! Neddless to say I've told him to save his money and wait. |
