S80 T6 reliability
I am just about to buy an S80 T6 SE 1999 but have read numerous reports about reliability of this model.
Does anyone have any experiences? Karl |

RE: S80 T6 reliability
They do suffer from more than average electrical (electronic) problems in the early models.

RE: S80 T6 reliability
Thanks Adam
I have been informed that the pre 2000 model are not worth touching because of reliability and the fact the geartronic boxes last until 100,000 miles. I am going for bmw m3 instead. Karl |

RE: S80 T6 reliability
Hi Karl,
Yeah the S80 was the first model to utilise the CAN bus and as with all new things, there are teething issues. Best to go with a later model. As for the M3 (E46), beware of weak bottom ends and brakes. Again, go for a later model rather than an earlier one. Adam. |
