S80SE 2.4 - 00X - 129K

A work colleague knowing me to be a volvo enthusiast (Prev 340,240Est and currently 940 owner) asked if i was interested in purchasing his S80. I do not know yet if it is 140 or 170bhp.

I have taken my previous cars to in excess of 150K without too much trouble and with very low maintenance costs. The S80 has a full service history and interests me, i am however concerned that the maintenance costs of a car with high levels of technology (in relation to my previous cars) may be very high. At this mileage within 5 years these must be mainly motorway miles, are there likely to be major items due for renewal (exhaust/belts) or any big items in the next 130K,140K,150K services.

Asking price approx £4,500 which appears ok calculated using Parkers guide.

I would be interested in comments or advice any S80 owners have to offer.
