Question Throttle cable routing?

Here's a picture of where the throttle cable on my 2002 1.6 petrol goes:

Is this right? I only ask because it seems to be merrily wearing its way through the induction pipe below:

....and, all in all, I'd rather it didn't.

Mines around there.

It isn't eating the pipe quite as much, maybe it's hungry?

I'd just move it, maybe clip it out the way, you'll end up feeding the thing too much and then it blowing gases out all the time eventually

Perhaps I'll wrap it in cotton-wool?

Is there any other pipes in that area you can clip it to?

Looks like something has beem rubbing to cause the induction pipe tp wear like that. The outer sleeve of throttle cable shouldn't move so are you sure everything properly connected and no play. Could be air filter housing loose, loose engine mount etc

Hmm, yeah, I'd better check those sort of things. The rubbing looks recent and quite quick - which doesn't comfort me much.
