New V70 with front & rear parking sensors.
In my old car (Vauxhall), the sensors only came on when reverse gear was engaged. Both front and rear were initially activated but, when you selected drive, the rears turned off. The fronts then remained on until you drove over a certain speed (10mph I think). In contrast, the sensors on the V70 only seem to be 'on / off' by the switch on the dash and are not connected in anyway to gear selection. So, we leave them on all of the time.... but guess what happens at traffic lights etc. This seems such a crude way to operate the sensors on a premium car. Am I expecting too much ? Yes - this happens on mine too every time I come to traffic lights or slow moving traffic. The thing that really gets me is that the sensor alarm also turns the stereo down too just to make sure you hear it!
