RE: Vroommm!.....BANG!!!!!!! (Bol**x!!!!)
Hi.
I think anything new needs to be given a bit of time to 'bed in' so-to-speak. So just drive it sensibly for 100-200 miles and then see how it goes. As an aside, apparently new tyres will last you considerably longer if you treat them gently over the first couple of hundred miles as well. Later, Dan. |

RE: Vroommm!.....BANG!!!!!!! (Bol**x!!!!)
Dan,
Are you saying that you can get more than a couple of hundred miles out of your tyres!?!?!? (just kidding):+ I was unable to get the hose today. the Gasket they changed was barely worn at all!! Even they said it seemed strange. Anyway. Why is it so hard to find someone normal to work on these cars?? The bradford bloke was just not of the "hey! I'll be good to you and you'll come back and tell your friends" mold of Garage owners. More the, "just get some cash in the till and squalk bo*lox in the hope the customer will leave feeling raped in the wallet area... Chump }> If anyone can tell me of a garage they TRUST with there Fast Volvo that is within 50 miles of Leeds/Bradford area then I would be happy to cross their palm with silver if they are competitively priced. My Intercooler tube was not ready. wrapped some Duck tape on the old one and it seems to cope very well untill tomorrow when my Offical Volvo part comes at £22.50. Damn, this is getting to be a diary... Off to leggy blondes for dinner now, Later! Loz 850 T5 CD Auto (Twisted Fire Starter }> ) |

Hi Adrian
I did exacly the same just before christmas in my 850T5 i was going to work 6.30am. As i approached a roudabout (bang) but i was not using the full power of the engine i just geared down anyway the car would not run over 1000rpm and with being dark i limped to work and parked the car. Two hours later i opened the bonnet and my top intercooler hose had blown away from the intercooler anyway a new jubalee clip sorted the problem out. I dont think i have ever been so glad to see a pipe which was not in its place. Thanks Leigh |

Loz,
You can buy tickets on the day, but I think they cost slightly more, like £20..... I am there all weekend, Sat, Sun & Monday. Phil :-)

RE: Vrrrooooooommm!.....BANG!!!!!!!
Leigh,
It's great to know it's not just me!! Did you ever find out WHY the hose had come off? ie. broken clip? I guess it's always worth checking the cause. I have this nagging fear that just cos I fixed the symptom, the problem might still be there and next time it will cos me more!! :'( Bit like blowing a 10amp fuse on a £5k Stereo and replacing it with a 30amp fuse. can't be suprised if next time you turn it up you distroy a £5k stereo now can you. IT WAS 10amp FOR A GOOD REASON!!! :+ Anyway, compare notes at the BTCC meet? Loz 850 T5 CD Auto (Twisted Fire Starter }> ) |

Check the Hoses around the turbo, you may find that one of them has either split or "Blown Off". Had this before, in a similar situation Turned out one of the Hoses had split....Not Funny :-) Had to limp home with dented pride.... Incidentally this was on an '85 200 Quattro Turbo, with 280bhp!!! Yeesssss!
Good Luck. Regards Dave M |
