Personally, I think it's worth the money. It looks like a well-made item.
It might not be worthwhile on a car that's used occasionally, to run to local car shows. But for a 164 Auto that gets used a lot, especially on motoways, the saving in engine wear and fuel would be well worth having, not to mention the more relaxed cruising.
Before I added an overdrive to my manual 164E, it was spinning at 4000rpm at 80mph. Now 4000rpm is 100mph; a massive improvement.
I'd like to hear from someone who's fitted one of these
Do you sell them in America? There's lots of 3-speed auto 164s there and many people cite the low gearing as the only downside of the car.
