Default identifying a t4 and road tax?

Hello!

New to the forum and currently shopping round for a v40 t4.

First question is how do identify a genuine t4 over a t without looking at the turbo's and secondly im looking at a y reg 2001 and a late 02 plate, is there any difference in road tax bracket?

Regards

Chris

Hi there if you type car tax into your search engine , when you get the results list up look for the www.direct.gov.uk one and follow the instructions then enter your cars reg number, and it will bring up your cars year and model (if its T4 or not) and how much it will cost to tax.
To tax my 98 T4 it cost £104.50 for 6 months.
Hope this helps

Cut off point for VED changes is 1 March 2001 and the Y-plate came in at the same time.

Tax for my 51 plate T4 (and all other T4s Y reg onwards) is £215 for the year upto March 2010 (did it last month), then from April 2010 its £245

See Parkers for more info: http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-t...64&deriv=18949

You can always go o the directgov site and then click vehicle enquiry and enter the reg number, to see current cost etc.

Yep, very difficult to tell the later (phase 2) T4 cars from the 2.0T. Very similar in so many ways. You need to see the engine code on the cam belt cover or check the engine code against this VIN reader.
