V70R, Bits'n'Bobs!
Still relatively new to "R" ownership, and finding it interesting to say the least! Grreaaatt car!!! (Rapidly becoming first name terms with local traffic police without even trying......ggggrrr!!!!)
Finding the Forums invaluable re. the choice of brakes, tyres etc. not to mention the almost "instant" advice offered from members! Great stuff! I'm posting about a couple of fairly trivial niggles, but they are annoying nonetheless. Firstly the Sc900 head unit.Like a few others here, the 3-disc changer seems to have a life of its own. It worked briefly after a cleaning disc was put through it, but now refuses to play any cd's loaded, instead running through each CD in the cartridge at least once before eventually stalling with an "Error 1" message showing. Anyone have any ideas? At least the boot changer is fine! Secondly the towing eye cover (front offside). The cover fitted has horizontal "slats", but the centre and nearside intakes have diamond patterned covers/grills. Should the towing eye cover not match them? Local Volvo dealer not helpful!! Any info. would be greatly appreciated, and, if anyone nearby fancies a chat, please feel free to get in touch! (I'm 10 mins. from Edinburgh) Cheers,Ken. |

RE: V70R, Bits'n'Bobs!
Hi Ken,
Congrats on your new motor, all of the plastice covers should be diamond pattern. I would presume the previous owner has lost the towing side cover and replaced it with a standard v70 horizontal cover. Try a breakers for this matching trim or the dealer. Do me a favour and let me know how you got on because the diamond sape covers look a lot more presentable than the standard ones. cheers good luck with the hunt Roy |
