Talking headlight alignment for europe

Hi,

I have just acquired a volvo 740 se and is it possible to adjust the headlights to suit european standards. There are two adjustment knobs on the lights themselves and the handbook does not give explanations.
I need to adjust the lights for the French test (mot) to comply with french driving standards. Can anybody help please.
Many thanks

You cannot adjust your lights for european motoring.
You can either fit deflectors to the headlamp lenses or for a more permanent solution you could replace the glass lenses with lhd versions.
Nordic have them.

All the times ive been abroad in my cars, ive never seen anyone with deflectors. Even in older cars, no-one bothers, me included. Ive been stopped by the french police late last year and they didnt even look. So i wouldnt worry!

Same hear james...never seen anyone with them but you do hear that the police love stopping brits and fining them.

You hardly see any police anyway....One bit of advice is upgrade your bulbs on a 740.We had a really scary driving experience in a storm with all the lights out on the motorway...could not see anything...the headlights were sh-t..
Could not tell which lane we were in or see further than 5 feet in front...very scary......NEVER AGAIN MONSUIER!
