Default Anti roll bar refresh

Hi everyone, whilst under my V70 doing yet another job I noticed the anti roll bar bushes look past their best. I know that the bushes are bonded to the ARB, but I was wondering if anyone has actually cut the old bushes off and replaces them with poly bushes? Surely the bushes are the only thing that wears out, so replacing the whole bar seems a massive waste of money? The set up looks the same as most cars I have looked at, so if I get the correct diameter bushes can is there anything else to stop me fitting them, or am i barking up completely the wrong tree?

Cheers Mud

The 850 originaly had replacable bushes but after a while they began to knock so volvo brought out the modified arrangment which you have which cured it . if they are not parting they should be ok for a lot longer .. If you put in hard plastic bushes i guess they will start to knock when they get the very slightest play in them ...

So will an 850 roll bar fit a V70? I much prefer the idea of changing the bushes every now and again and spending a few quid, rather than hundreds on the alternative.

It should do , certainly worth looking into , the V70 is just a facelifted 850 , as is a C70 convertible which went on to 2005 so many spares for the 850 platform cars should be around a long time
