Default right or wrong disk?

hi there all.

i have just bought my first volvo s60 and i have come across its first problem.

i have got the RTI sat nav system and the disk wasnt with the car when i bought it.

i now have the disk as i recieved it in the post but it dosent seem to work for some reason.

is this because i have a 2001 model system and the disk that has been sent to me is a 2005 disk.

please let me know if this 2005 disk should still work or have i a faulty sat nav system.

many thanks

danny

Disk should work and update your system, but read the 'can't read disk' threads the DVD drive may be faulty.

Talking Sat nab disk

Thanks chris.
I have read on the forum that it might need a bios update.
What do you know about the bios?

As you can tell I'm new to the volvo but still loving it.

I think a bios upgrade is via a disk the dealers may have, I'd have a look at the posts related to this as some dealers may need help to identify they can do this.

i was looking at updating mine until i found out the cost.
my handbook told me to insert new disc to upload the new info and then put my old disc back in.
perhaps you need the original disc to give it all the info and the 2005 disc only holds the updates.
