Keyless, with no key button presses...
In adding keyless fobs to my 1995 850 I want to remove the current key buttons on the front of my car (to stop they being played with etc). Is it possible swop in a set of rear handles into the front, or even swop the buttons over. Or any info that would be helpful.

Hi Adrian,
the rear handles won't fit the front doors. They don't reach far enough into the door to release the catch. I can't remember if the non-moving part of the handle (the key blank bit?) fits from the rear to the front. I think the passenger one from a V70 set does fit over the driver's one from a V70 if you wanted to go completely keyless. HTH, Pete

So...got there in the end...for my car, I needed to find the matching set of fobs and control relay to go with my wiring loom, once I understood this... I waited until yesterday when a local 850 was being broken and once I had parted with the pennies (for 1 control unit and 2 fobs), I removed the green plug that was mounted under a clip on the passenger door post and plugged the relay in and changed the batteries in the fobs and away with the mixer central locking. Tonight I converted the passenger door handle to no key using the rear handle cover from one that I had purchased from Ebay, I will do the drivers side when I get time. Adrian ...PS thanks Jod.
