RE: Intercooler upgrade, what can i expect?
charge coolers (the ones that use water) are much much more efficient in taking the heat away from the turboed air than the normal air cooled intercooler!!
if watercooling my pc can lower the temp of my 3200xp by 10 degrees using a charge cooler must be a wise step especially if u r running big boost and good even a good idea if running a chip but i haven't seen any about for volvo's. ;( i had a cavalier turbo 4x4 that was fitted with a courtney charge cooler and it was good for 250bhp (with a bleed valve) without the cooler i think it would have blown as it pinked all the time. ;) |

As said, you will need to go 'big boost' (which requires other upgrades too) before needing something that will better the already very good standard cooler.
