I think its a 36mm socket (I took mine with me and tested the biggest sizes they had until I found one that fitted) its quite easy I managed to do the bottom control arm cv boot, anti roll bar linkage and brake disk and pads in 2 hours for one side (the other side took 4 hours as it was the first time I had ever done it.
You can probably manage with just undoing the ball joint on the control arm from the bottom of the brake supports which should give clearance to swing the drive shaft out.

Default CV Boot B***ering Thing

When I did my T5 no way could I get the damn large nut off the driveshaft end, tried everything except heat, so I simply took whole hub abd driveshaft off then cut away old CV boot popped the circlip holding CV joint and changed boot that way then popped it back on. I found it much easier that way, depends how easy that large nut will come undone, apparently glued on at assembly by Volvo apes when made! Good luck RUFE best deal for wholes kit.

I had my socket on a 2 foot bar and it was tough but did come undone, it gets re-torqued to 120nm plus turned an extra 60 degrees.

Having worked on volvo's for a few years now i would recommend dropping the two hub retaining bolts out then just folding the hub forwards. Hub nut im pretty sure would be as stated 36mm but can be different depending on shaft if i remember rightly(dont quote) But u might find if the Volvo Oafs have been there before that the splines of the shaft may have been lock tighted in to preven clicking of the shaft on take up of drive, so gentle persuation may be required
enjoy
