Hiya,
Just had a set of Toyos fitted to my car. Fitted 205/40/17's, pressures set to 35psi. Initial impressions seem quite good, nice and tight feeling, probably the slightly lower profile. going to "scrub them in" gently just now and then give them a good "test run" up in the highlands in a couple of weeks so i'll report back and let you all know my findings (as long as it stays dry that is!!) oh and they look good as well!
cheers guys.

if the profile is lower you might wanna be carful about confusing some of the cars circitry and it will think its going the wrong speed

it'll just make the speedo over read a tad, it's not really confusing any circuitry, just that the speedo takes its reading from the driveshaft speed, and the car on lower profiles does less distance for each turn of the wheel. Marginal really, and all depends how accurate your speedo was in the first place anyway.

You can work it out if you really wanted too, bit of simple maths, as long as you knwo the gear ratios for the car.

You'll have 82mm of profile on the current tyres of 205 40 17,

so 2 x 82 plus 17 inches (24mm in an inch if I remember rightly)

compared to 2 x Y plus 17 inches of the old tyres, so as you cna see, its not really going to throw it out that much.

And yes, that is me now killed enough time to head out by typing this highly entertaining post ;)
