I've now done all the above tests, removed and replaced relevant fuses, and still nothing. The only thing I haven't checked/replaced is the relay, but my relay box doesn't have the guide in the lid so can someone tell me which relays I need to replace?
When I did the diag tests the LED just stayed on, no flashing codes. And in another attempt the LED didn't come on at all. And the car was turning over again but not starting. And the remote fobs still aren't working! Next course of action is to replace the alarm control box to see if that sorts it. But when attempting to undo the box from the dash they've used some strange screws. They look like phillips screws but they also have a bit of metal in the middle similar to a shrader valve so the phillips screwdriver doesn't fit. How stupid is that?! |

Im not too sure about the relays for this, I havent heard of any relays for the immob or central locking that are in the relay pack.
www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=23874 So you found the control box? Actually, you dont have to remove those screws, it only makes the job easier, its only a plastic frame that it holds. You can reach up and 'pop clip' the box off that frame. In my case they were normal star heads. If the diagnostic led is staying on and not flashing on or not working then again I am suggesting that the remote control box is at fault. Last edited by carl4u44; Dec 8th, 2009 at 23:55. |

Any more luck with this? I obtained the Vadis software which can give more detail on the immob. But its also saying that it can only be deactivated with the key fob's unlock button. The pics above show a remote control module i plucked from the scrap yard, however it's totally dead and is rendered usless!

I've been thinking about it and have decided to sell the car on as spares/repair material. I only bought it a month ago and it was supposed to be my reliable winter runner whilst I worked on my other car, but has taken up too much time/money already so I'm going to cut my losses on this one!
Thanks for your help though Carl, much appreciated. |

What a shame rob, im sorry to hear this tho it can be better to cut your loses sometimes!
If it's being broke up for spares post it on the sales section/ebay with plenty of pictures, i'd be glad to nip a few parts and im sure others will too! Last edited by carl4u44; Dec 12th, 2009 at 15:16. |
