Alpine CD changer
Hi
You wiil need the Vola2 interface to go into the radio. I am assuming it is the Alpine CHM-S630 Changer.

CD Changer
Sorry I misread. You say it is an Alpine radio and not a Volvo double din one. So the Vola2 interface may not be of any use as it is for Volvo radios.
Ask on the Alpine website to see what is needed.

Are both Alpine units from the same era?
Early ones used the M-Bus system, later ones Ai-Net, and the connections aren't compatible, but I believe you can get an adapter lead.

Ah, if it's a brand new head unit then it might be a different connection again.
If you get no joy from the Alpine site then try the Talk Audio forum, quoting the model numbers of each

Didn't see you'd already mentioned the changers model number!
The CHM 630 is definitely the older M-Bus system, with the later models being CHA (Ai-net). I think this kind of thing should do it. Do the connections seem to look the same as the ones you have?

hi i checked the link the cable shown is the opposite of what i need
i have looked into it and it seems that you cannot connect the m bus to the new ai net plug which is a bummer the only option seems to be get a new cd changer so i think i will leave it disconnected at least i can plug my ipod in cheers for the advice. |
